On February 14th, the cabin hospital in Dahuashan of Jiangxia District, Wuhan was officially put into use. The hospital was set up in Dahuashan Outdoor Sports Center, with 5 wards and about 400 beds. Patients there would be treated with integrated TCM and western medicine, mainly with TCM. That night, the hospital admitted the first 50 patients.
At present, a medical team of 209 members from the tertiary hospitals in Tianjin, Jiangsu, Henan, Hunan, and Shaanxi led by Zhang Boli, member of the expert group of the central steering group, academician with Chinese Academy of Engineering, and President of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, has stationed the cabin hospital. They would treat patients together with doctors from Jiangxia District TCM Hospital. Experts in the medical team are composed of specialists of TCM, respiratory and Intense care, imaging, clinical lab, nursing, etc., to ensure the patients of the best treatment.
"The treatment experience shows that TCM is effective for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms." Zhang Boli introduced.
The medical team of the cabin hospital will use TCM decoction, combined with massage, moxibustion and other methods for treatment, and carry out clinical treatment and research of COVID-19. While treating patients with mild symptoms, the doctors will also identify severe patients and send them to the designated hospitals for treatment.
In the cabin hospital, the reporter saw that the wards were already equipped with electric kettles, microwave ovens, etc. Each bed was equipped with electric blankets, power sockets and trash bins.
