National Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Medical Treatment Expert Group working on the front-line of prevention and control of the outbreak caused by 2019-nCoV in Wuhan

After the outbreak, a National TCM Medical Treatment Expert Group headed by MR. Huang Luqi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and DR. Tong Xiaolin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, have rushed to the front-line of Wuhan to carry out investigations, ward rounds and revision of diagnosis and treatment plan.

Since January 21, Huang Luqi, Tong Xiaolin, Liu Qingquan, Zhang Zhongde, Qi Wensheng, Wang Yuguang, Miao Qing and other experts have arrived in Wuhan in batches. Experts conducted in-depth field investigation in Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Hubei Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Wuhan Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine to understand the situation of epidemic prevention, control and medical treatment. During their stay, they have entered isolation wards to conduct rounds consultations regarding part of treated cases, discussed with the hospital medical staff, and made recommendations on strengthening the hospital's medical treatment management and giving full play to the advantages of TCM. Huang Luqi, Tong Xiaolin and other experts also convene a consultation meeting with related personnel to learn the trial implementation situation of the National TCM Diagnosis and Treatment Plan while listening to the opinions of frontline doctors and experts from TCM hospitals of different types at all levels, infectious disease hospitals and primary-level medical and health institutions. On this basis, Huang Luqi and Tong Xiaolin chaired an on-line video conference in Wuhan to discuss with the consultants and members of the National TCM Medical Treatment Expert Group and some experts of the National TCM Medical Team, so as to further optimize the National TCM Diagnosis and Treatment Plan, which is to be released as soon as possible to guide the TCM medical treatment work over the country.
