Invited by the Government of the Philippines, the Chinese Government sent an anti-epidemic expert team to the Philippines and they left Fuzhou, Fujian for the Philippines on the morning of April 5.
The team was organized by the National Health Commission and all the 12 members are from Fujian. They are the experts and officials from Fujian Provincial Hospital, Fujian Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University, People’s Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Overseas Chinese organizations. They expertise includes respiratory disease and critical care, ICU, integrated TCM and western medicine, TCM, infection control, infectious disease control, microorganism test and nursing.
The team set out with a donation from Fujian of 30 ventilators, 5,000 sets of protective clothing, 30,000 N95 medical masks, 300,000 medical masks, 5,000 medical isolation face shields, which are most needed in the Philippines. Overseas Chinese Charity Foundation of China, Fujian Overseas Friendship Association, Fujian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Quanzhou Municipal Government and enterprises in Fujian also mobilized a donation of 12 tons of equipment, medical supplies and TCM drugs, which showed the confidence of the governments and peoples of both sides to fight the pandemic.
