Slight-sweating Exercise
Although hiding and storing in winter, this does not mean we cannot do any exercise in winter. Appropriate exercise, such as walking, jogging with slight sweating to promote circulation of qi and blood (not to be static) balances yin and yang of the body. If so, symptoms of fatigue, laziness, lassitude, and head heaviness due to hiding and storing and lacking exercise can be avoid.
The good environment and proper route are important for winter exercise. It is better not to exercise on the side of the road where cars frequently come and go, because cars will bring lots of dust when driving. These dust particles suspended in the air have a strong adsorption force. Many harmful gases or liquids can be adsorbed on the particles inhaled into the lung, which will induce acute or chronic respiratory diseases.
Before winter exercise, you should make proper preparations. Avoid exercising in strong wind, cold, heavy snow, and haze. Before doing outdoor exercise in winter, wear warm clothes, hat and gloves to avoid catching cold. If the wind is heavy, wear a mask. Do not wear too much, or it will increase burden on human body and hinder people from exercise, and easily results in profuse sweating and catching cold.
In short, the following principles should be followed when engaging in winter exercise: do not get up too early before sunrise (especially for the elderly); maintain indoor ventilation and air out the house regularly, and prevent dryness; Do not wear too thick or too many clothes and control the room temperature; slight sweating is necessary when doing exercise, to keep warm and dissipate cold.
